On
a small olive grove in Oroville, with a small olive press purchased
from Italy, the Giannecchini
family began to press olive oil, for their family’s personal use and
to share with friends. It was only natural, since olive oil has
always been a main ingredient in the Giannecchini kitchen, passed
down from their Tuscan heritage.
Franco’s
boyhood experiences in Italy, working at his uncle’s olive grove,
gave him the knowledge to only pick enough olives that could be
pressed at one time. Careful processing of the oil and timely
pressing produced a wonderfully subtle buttery flavor extra virgin
olive oil that surpassed the quality of any other imported olive oil
his family and friends had tasted. With rave reviews from all who
tasted it and the desire of many to have it, Franco decided to
purchase a 12 acre olive grove and turn his once hobby into a small
business.
Sunset Olive Grove extra virgin olive oil is “solely from the fruit
of the olive tree” and its high quality meets and exceeds the
standards set by the California Olive Oil Council, which certifies
it to be “extra virgin olive oil”. Limited production allows the Giannecchini family to control the quality of the olive oil to be
consistently flavorful and versatile. It is great for sautéing
foods; it can be used in baking recipes, as a finishing oil and the
flavored oils are wonderful for dipping.
Sunset
Olive Grove extra virgin olive oil is truly a product of family
tradition and pride. The Giannecchini family is very proud to offer their olive oil to
you and your family and is confident it will become the olive oil of
choice in your kitchen that everyone loves.
